Tips for finding limited edition items

I absolutely hate it when I see a limited edition item or some thing that Disney used to carry that I missed out on when they sold it. This tends to happen to me a lot, so I found some good places to go to to try to find items that I absolutely have to have that aren’t being sold anymore.

My favorite go to is Poshmark. Poshmark specializes in fashion and clothing, has excellent customer service and has everything shipped to you via priority mail. It’s easy to filter down by brand and often times items are very fairly priced and not extremely overpriced like they can be on other sites. It’s not typically the first place people look, so you might be more likely to find that special item because it’s not overcrowded with people searching for Disney items.

I always check eBay to see if I can even find the item. If it’s something that was limited addition, it’s probably going to have a big markup on eBay because there’s probably a ton of people looking for it.

You can often find items on Mercari that are more of individuals listing them that happen to buy the wrong size. I found that it’s often cheaper on Mercari, but goes fast because it’s cheaper and people have filter set to be notified when Disney items go up for sale. You might look out and get it for cheaper here, but chances are the item you’re looking for has already sold.

You can always search Facebook marketplace, but I found that their search engine doesn’t necessarily take you to the right items quickly, so you might have to do a lot of scrolling and editing what you’re searching for to find that special item. That being said, it might not sell as quickly because people can’t find it, which could increase your chances.

Loungeflies for beginners

If you love Disney and haven’t broken into the loungefly-lover-for-life club yet, you might be missing out. Loungefly is a brand, but when people refer to loungeflies they really mean the tiny bookbags that happen to be perfect for taking to Disney parks. Loungefly specializes in uniquely designed handbag and backpack art. The patterns are cute and related to niche areas like Disney and Universal studios.

You can buy some loungeflies in the parks and at the loungefly store online, but some of the cool and unique ones are only offered through other sites. Some places that I would recommend checking out for cool and unique loungefly‘s include box lunch, and whitepolkadots (go to https://lddy.no/11psw).

It All Started with a Mouse

I was around 2 or 3 when I first went to Walt Disney World. It was right at the beginning of the age when kids can remember the magic of Disney, and I remember it vividly. My mom twirled me and danced with me to music all the way down Main Street U.S.A. and up to the beautiful castle, and my dad grabbed my hand and stood with me in line to meet my absolute favorite–THE Disney character of all time–Minnie Mouse.

Let’s get this straight: I was a tom-boy when it came to TV shows, but when it came to my favorite character, there is just something about those bright red and white polka dots, that cute bow, the popping bright yellow heels and the kind smile Minnie always had. Consistently in movies and books, Minnie Mouse was the epitome of femininity and fashion.

Naturally, when it came time to meet her, I shyly walked up to her, shaking with excitement, and put on a big smile for the camera. It also makes sense that on my first Disney trip, I bought my first Minnie Mouse doll, who became my best childhood “friend” and a requirement for all road trips, bedtime stories, and crying sessions.

Everyone Disney-lover has their character and the memory of their first trip to a Disney Park. In one trip, the magic became real and stuck with me for a lifetime of Disney love. And for me, it all started with the kind, fabulous, and fun Minnie Mouse.
